Bridgestone is completing the line-up of its flagship long-haul Ecopia tyre range with ENLITEN technology

Bridgestone EMEA (Bridgestone) is completing the line-up of its flagship long-haul Ecopia tyre range with ENLITEN technology, following the launch of Ecopia Trailer. With this addition to the range, highway fleets can now improve fuel efficiency and reduce total cost of ownership across Steer, Drive and Trailer axles, while all three also contribute to significantly lowering CO2 emissions.

Throughout rigorous testing1, the Bridgestone Ecopia range substantially outperforms the previous generation for reduced CO2 emissions across the life cycle - with the Steer and Drive tyres receiving independent, pioneering ISO 14067 certification.

As a result of significant savings on fuel consumption, Bridgestone Ecopia Steer, Drive and Trailer help reduce carbon emissions when the tyre is in use by 3.2% 1, 6% 1 and 5.6%2 respectively per kilometre driven. Thanks also to the significantly improved wear of the Ecopia Steer, Drive and Trailer tyres, the CO2 emissions per kilometre allocated throughout production3 (the so-called ‘cradle to gate’ phase) is now reduced by 38.4%1, 10.8%1 and 20.4%2 respectively.

“Bridgestone Ecopia represents the future of long-haul transport,” said Waqqas Ahmad, Commercial Sales Director, Bridgestone EMEA. “Efficient and innovative, our flagship long-haul tyre range is engineered to help reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions – without compromising tyre performance levels.

“Now with the launch of Ecopia Trailer, our partners can maximise these benefits. For both fleet operations and the OEMs we work with, the complete Bridgestone Ecopia range is here to support your decarbonisation objectives, help you meet new and upcoming sustainability regulations and, at the same time, reduce your total cost of ownership.”

Jaroslav Klčo, Co-Owner of A.R.P.I. spol. s r. o. Slovakia, a flexible and customer-oriented company specializing in transportation and freight forwarding within European Countries, which equips its truck fleet with Bridgestone Ecopia tyres with ENLITEN technology, added: “With the new Bridgestone Ecopia tyres, we significantly reduced fuel consumption. They also ensure even wear and help to achieve higher mileage. Drivers appreciate tyres that offer good grip in dry and wet conditions on highways, even in winter.”

Performance gains enabled by Bridgestone’s ENLITEN technology

Bridgestone Ecopia’s reduced ownership costs and environmental impact on the roads are made possible by decreased rolling resistance and improved wear life, compared to its previous generation.4

The Bridgestone tyre range provides a rolling resistance reduction across all axles versus its previous generation4, including an up to 12 per cent improvement in the Drive axle. This enables a best-in-class EU label A-grade performance in fuel efficiency. Additionally, Bridgestone Ecopia offers enhanced mileage across all axles, with 40 per cent higher mileage on Steer – thanks to the addition of Spiral Belt Technology – 6 per cent on Drive and 10 per cent on the Trailer axle.2

Bridgestone Ecopia’s significant performance gains are enabled by the integration of ENLITEN technology, Bridgestone’s innovative approach to tyre development. ENLITEN is a combination of cutting-edge technologies providing maximum safety, outstanding tyre performance and improved sustainability characteristics, while ensuring that Bridgestone tyres are EV and future-ready.

The Bridgestone Ecopia range with ENLITEN technology key sizes align with the new EU Taxonomy criteria for both rolling resistance and external rolling noise requirements, reinforcing Bridgestone’s commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions and supporting environmentally responsible fleet operations and EV-readiness.

Following the 2023 launches of Bridgestone Ecopia Steer and Drive, Ecopia Trailer will be available to the European market from February 2025.
